24 Hours With Me at Paris Fashion Week: Runways, Meditation & Marble Luggage

Published:

It hit me recently—after countless fashion weeks and endless Instagram Stories—that I’ve never actually walked you through a full day in my PFW whirlwind. So consider this your all-access pass: from my 6 AM meditation sessions to late-night crêpe runs, here’s exactly how I survive (and thrive) during the most chaotic week in fashion.

6:30 AM: The Calm Before the Storm

Meditation & Mindset

I’ve been deep into my meditation practice lately (more on that [here]), and fashion week is when I need it most. At Amastan Paris—my go-to hotel in the city—I start each morning with 20 minutes of quiet before the chaos. Their suites have these gorgeous, light-filled corners perfect for sitting cross-legged with my favorite guided app. (Pro tip: Always travel with noise-canceling headphones. Hotel AC units are not zen.)

The Ultimate Fashion Week Fuel

Post-meditation, I order:

  • An obscenely large coffee (Parisian cafés just do espresso better).
  • Avocado toast with chili flakes (my forever pre-show staple).

8:00 AM: The Getting-Ready Ritual

Beauty in a Flash

PFW demands a 15-minute face that lasts 15 hours. My kit:
Hydrating serum (flight skin be gone).
Cream blush + highlighter (for that “I definitely slept eight hours” glow).
Waterproof mascara (because front-row tears at Thom Browne are inevitable).

The Outfit Dilemma

I lay out everything the night before (in theory). Reality? A last-minute swap when I realize my “comfortable heels” are, in fact, not. This season’s savior: a blazer dress with sneakers—chic enough for shows, practical enough for sprinting between venues.

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM: Show Hopping

The Logistics

  • Car service > Metro (worth every euro when you’re in a slip dress at 9 AM).
  • Notes app chaos (show times, locations, and which PR friend promised me a seat).

The Highlights

Backstage at Dior (where the energy is pure magic).
Street style snaps (aka the 2-minute photo shoot before my Uber arrives).
Secret café breaks (there’s always that one empty spot near Palais Royal).

6:30 PM: The AWAY x Amastan Collab Moment

One of this season’s coolest surprises? AWAY luggage took over Amastan’s lobby with a special residency. As someone who lives out of a suitcase half the year, I’m obsessed with how they incorporated the hotel’s signature blue marble into their designs. (I’ve used my AWAY Carry-On for years—get 10% off with code AWAYLOVESAMASTAN if you need one too.)

8:00 PM: Dinner (Finally)

Fashion week dinners are either:
A) A three-hour tasting menu (when you’re that lucky).
B) A croissant inhaled in an Uber (more common).

This night? Le Mary Celeste for natural wine and oysters with my team. (Priorities: carbs and gossip.)

11:00 PM: The Unwind

  • Bath with hotel salts (non-negotiable for aching feet).
  • Slathering on face oil (because pollution is not a skincare step).
  • Prepping tomorrow’s looks (read: begging my stylist to steam things for me).

The Takeaway

PFW is equal parts exhilarating and exhausting—but that’s the magic of it. The key? Lean into the chaos, steal quiet moments where you can, and always pack snacks.
